155 Glendeer Circle Southeast suite lm3, Calgary, AB, T2H 2S8With the imminent arrival of the large electric sedan at Volkswagen, the brand\'s engineers decided to have some fun with a performance concept based on the ID.7. The ID.X was specially designed to impress the audience at an electric vehicle event in Switzerland. It\'s safe to say that it made quite an impression, as the heavily modified luxury sedan also made the rounds on social media.
The Volkswagen ID.X is anything but ordinary, with its massive rear wing and wide body kit. While it may not offer a roaring engine sound to match its wild appearance, the German manufacturer\'s sedan boasts a power output of 551 horsepower, which is 231 horsepower more than the regular ID.7. This power is achieved through the addition of a second electric motor on the front axle. In addition to providing more power, the Volkswagen ID.X also benefits from all-wheel drive.
Unfortunately, the brand\'s engineers have not provided details regarding the acceleration and top speed of the model. In practice, it\'s unnecessary since it\'s a concept, but the car enthusiast in me would like to know.
More than just decorative features
Among the performance elements found on the car are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, 10-spoke bronze-painted wheels, and a limited-slip rear differential. The car\'s suspension has also been lowered by 2.3 inches. The car is equipped with a substantial rear diffuser, and the front bumper also benefits from aerodynamic enhancements.
The Volkswagen ID.X offers a very eye-catching finish with enhanced visual elements. The concept presented in Switzerland was painted silver with contrasting black elements, making them even more conspicuous. Finally, it was adorned with a stylish red lower body stripe. Even though the interior largely retains the same shape as the original model, it features several red elements that tie in with the exterior.
Even though the ID.X concept is unlikely to find its way into the production model lineup, it\'s fun to see what Volkswagen can do with a seemingly ordinary vehicle like the ID.7 sedan. It\'s a shame because this is the kind of car that could certainly find a lot of success in its segment.
