155 Glendeer Circle Southeast suite lm3, Calgary, AB, T2H 2S8After months of rumors and speculation, Kia has finally unveiled its very first pickup truck. The Korean manufacturer has presented us with the Tasman, an elegant, friendly, and functional truck. However, a small downside is that North America is not currently on the list of target markets for this model.
This news is rather hard to swallow for fans of the brand, especially those who expected the Tasman to land in Canada, particularly given that Hyundai, KiaW's sister brand, offers a pickup truck on our market.
It might not be for everyone, but that’s often the case when something truly new comes from a Korean manufacturer. Personally, I have to say I really like the design of the Kia Tasman. It has a look that’s both rugged and modern. Kia is giving us something different with a new aesthetic language, and I must say, I really like it.
The Korean manufacturer has also done a nice job with the interior, featuring a very modern and refined finish. Kia has managed to bring a distinctly truck-like feel to the dashboard design, which isn’t always the case with this type of vehicle.
The Kia Tasman doesn’t just look good; it’s also capable of moving effortlessly, even off the beaten path. The Korean manufacturer\'s truck offers a ground clearance of 252 mm in some versions. The Tasman will also offer several cabin configurations, which is good news for business owners. Additionally, the manufacturer has created a line of 13 accessories to enhance the TasmanW's capabilities.
This midsize truck boasts a towing capacity of 7,716 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,634 pounds in certain configurations.
Under the hood, the Korean pickup offers two options, starting with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine delivers 281 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. A 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine is also available as an option, with 210 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
